Worlds Best Big Game Rifle Shot

Congratulations to Andrew Hepner from Geelong, Victoria, AUS for winning the Vintagers Shoot and the Orvis Shooting Grounds in New York. I don't think Andrew posts here but many of the posters know him and I thought he needed a kudoo.

I don't know all of the details as the newspaper article has disappeared while I was away but hopefully someone else can fill it in. Andrew belongs to the Big Game Rifle Club in AUS. It is a fountain of information on anything with big holes in the end. (firearms mainly).

That's good news.

If it in the Vintagers does that mean the competition shoot was a shotgun shoot?

I believe the Vintagers here in Oz is mainly a shotgun club of classic vintage shotguns, while the Big Game Rifle Club is as its name implies vintage and large bore rifles. Perhaps Vintagers in the USA combines both?

Hopefully there will be a story in a BGRC newsletter on the shoot.

No The Vintagers in the US is a combination of both and Andrew won the Double Rifle version. I am sure that there will be an article in the newsletter as they paid for his trip by virtue of his being in the top three of the Australian Championships.

I got a copy of the article from the Geelong Paper emailed to me but it was lost by the time I came back from Canada.
