Just happened to notice this on gunsamerica.

Merkel 150-1.1 Boxlock Ejector Express, 9.3x74R, 23 1/2" barrels with front ramp sight and rear standing
fixed sight, double triggers, pistol grip, 8 lbs 4 oz, cheekpiece, 14 1/2" LOP, quick detach bases made into the
rib, with rings to fit a 30mm tube x 42mm objective scope, beautifully engraved sideplated gun with stag/elk
on the left side and a boar on the right side, comes with a leather fitted case, original papers. very nice gun that
is no longer available in the US. Near new condition gun.

Looks like good value for a first time buyer
- of which we have a few of lately on this forum

That is a nice price! Especially with the engraved sideplates.

That's what I thought when I saw it.
At the price he has on it is makes it a good value
buy - good Medium double, Ejectors, Scope Mounts
and engraved sideplates.

There is a Merkel 9.3x74 at Rebel Gun works for $7500.00 aus dollars also a westley richards 450 [i think] black powder double ]for about $10,000 aus

Maybe I'm fussy, but I'd have preferred that it had a stock without a knot in it for that price. Kind of sticks out like an ugly pimple IMO on an otherwise nice gun.

500Nitro , I haven't been able to find any of the S/S 9.3X74R doubles in the USA now. They are simply not available here,in any S/S form, as far as I know! I guess they got so popular, they are all sold out! Thank God I got mine back when they were $4695 US!

You could always darken the stock so it doesn't show
or restock it.

Then Merkel are probably missing out on sales if they
don't bring in the Merkel 9.3 X 74R.

What do you think ?

This is based on view of the number of posters on this
and other forums who like the 9.3 and want a low cost
double.

I believe you are right 500Nitro! The 9.3X74R has become quite popular of late in the states. Two, or three years ago it was hard to sell one, but not today! I've checked the importers, and they are not listing them in stock here, sold out! I have two doubles chambered for the little 9.3 and they get a real work out here in the USA, as well as Africa, and Canada! They are just about perfect for everything in North America!
