This pic could be equally at home in
Big Bore forum
Black Powder forum
But here it is.
My 450 NE Ruger No. 1 (in 450 BPE mode) in action at a recent BGR shoot.
Thanks to Gerard for the video, from which I grabbed this image.

Love it mate! Did the same with my Ruger No1, except mine is in 500NE 3" & BPE. Makes plenty of smoke

Thanks Barry.
Yours would get your attention with 500 NE loads?

THAT is a GREAT picture.
I sold my .50 3 1/4" due to too heavy recoil with the 170gr.F Meteor powder and 700gr. Bullets. That narrow butt plate dug in, but the rifle REALLY liked the load. The guy who ended up with it, used 101gr. AA3100 behind a 500gr. Cast for just over 2,000fps. This load was deemed suitable for those Shiloh Actions, by Accurate Arms, back in the 80's. He was a wee bit more impervious to recoil than I was.

At full Group 3 ballistics it is Mark! Clocks 570gn Woodies at 2157fps, but with a 30"barrel. I use AR2208, its a very consistent load, but it goes over the Max Pressure stated in Quick Load, so only can be shot in a Ruger or similar type action - I will not recommend this load in a double.
In BPE mode its a different animal altogether, still know your firing 110+gn of BP though! Not sure how my back would go using it in full Nitro mode, I can fire my 404 okay without to much bother afterwards - but there's a vast difference in recoil between a .404 & a 500NE!
Great photo of the rifle going off - marvellous!
