Got this shorthaired, wirehaired pointer cross few months ago as an eight week old pup. Not much experience to compare him with but his natural ability is unbelievable to me. Will hold a point on quail while I walk in an flush with no real training. He is also super obedient although when he gets on a bird scent not much else matters. Have not introduced him to gunfire other than .22s as of yet. Will slowly introduce some 12 bore shots in the next few weeks. Wish I'd gotten in to it years ago.

Big feet, he will grow nicely.

Interesting cross, wire and short haired German pointers.

Do you have quail up there? What type?

Don't let the crocs get him. What's his name?

Nice pup. Good pointers and flushers come by it instinctively.

Yeah we have quail up here. Brown quail mainly and some King quail. Walk the dogs every day and always find them. Alot of pairs but find coveys of up to 10. Of course you can't shoot them, that would be against the law. They hold in cover well and are perfect for young dogs learning the ropes. Once they flush they are quick though.
The pups name is Ranger. Have put alot of time into him and so happy with how is he is coming along. Have relied on you tube a fair bit and I realised pretty quick I was the main problem . The croc thing is a concern but not too likely where we go. Snakes are probably more of a worry.
Its an interesting cross breed. I saw the parents when I picked him up. He looks like a shorthaired pointer with a beard. One of his sisters is in town as well and she is about half his size and looks like a blue tick hound.
