Looking for light bullets for 375
      #387735 - 15/11/24 09:15 PM

Im currently using 235gn Speer in my 375H&H for pigs and deer. I wouldnt mind some lighter pills for using on goats. Does anyone know where any 180-200gn bullets are available in Oz? I have seen Hawke makes bullets in this weight but cant find any .

Sierra makes a 200gr. FP for the .375 Winchester m94.
Hornady had a 225gr.Spitzer fur discontinued it.
Hornady makes a 220gr. FP for the same .375 levergun.
At 1,942fps they worked a treat on B.C. moose & ended up
on the off side under the hide, picture perfectly expanded.

I wouldn't worry, I use 235 to 300 grain pills on cats, rabbits on up but the 235grains sure smash pigs.

I know of a couple of low volume specialty bullet makes I will check with them and see if they make the lighter bullet weights for the 375.

My .375/06IMP makes 2,840fps with 235gr. Sierras and used to run 2,860fps with the same load and 225's. I suspect they would be murder on pigs & most everything else.

No idea if or where available in Australia.

My spreadsheet on ectional density comparisons, ideal bullet weights. 220 to 350 gr looks about right for a 375.

Monumental bullets might make lighter bullets more acceptable.

Sounds like a cast bullet would suit your needs.

249-ish is the lightest Cast bullet normally for the H&H ctg I think, however there should be 200gr. available as well, due to the .375 Winchester & perhaps the .38/55.

www.buffaloarms.com

193gr.w/gas check, out of stock and VERY expensive. Single cavity, $205.00 US

Thing about bullet molds, you only have to pay for them once!
