Not commonly encountered these days, but BSA and others (including Westley Richards?!!) built single-shot centrefire rifles using Lee Enfield actions. That guy on Youtube doesn't know much about much!

Khyber Pass my arse!!
...and 5 on the rear sight means five-thousand yards??? D!ckhead!

Just had a quick look through the catalogues on hand and could only find reference to the Westley Richards version, that hides the socket, or is removed completely, chambered in .32-40 (page 18 of the repro Rodda catalogue).

My friend Ian has a BSA example in .32-40 here in Darwin, that I have had in my hands. Haven't fired it though. Not sure he has yet either.

It was bugging me, so I went googling and found a good reference right here on NE.com!

Best source of info on vintage sporting rifles on the internet!

thanks marakai to clarify this

one question "Not commonly encountered these days, but BSA and others (including Westley Richards?!!) built single-shot centrefire rifles using Lee Enfield actions."

if they had use a Lee Enfield action just out of the production line or maybe out of the scrap box ( because the action failed military imspection for a lesser problem but was actually safe) there would be an opening in the bottom for the magazine. what had they done with this to close it?

They made it without an opening from the start, a commercial action to start. Simple enough to skip the step cutting/forging the opening.

Never thought to take a close look. I should get a few pics of Ian's rifle to clarify this, when I get the chance, and toss them up here.
Perhaps someone else here has one. Spud303 hasn't posted since 2021 but might be still around.

Twice, I left comments on this video pointing out that this a legitimate gun, twice those comments have been deleted.

I'm old. My hands LOOK old. Those hands look as if they belong to an 18 year old....and the voice isn't yet mature either.

The start of the video shows the "kid" who did the video.

What a dumb ass. No not him, well yes him, but me.

I should have sent him a message saying I collect Khyber pass guns and offered him $300, instead of telling him it is real.
