Had tables at the local gunshow this weekend. This walked in this morning. Alex Henry .500 BPE with grapevine engraving. He walked back out with it as well. He was asking $12500.

Nice looking set.
Some of the accessories look awfully clean, maybe not original to the whole kit?

I note "Alex'r Henry, Ltd" so this one was retailed by Henry's son, as Alexander Henry had passed away and the company name was reincorporated to "Ltd."

Wondering if the bullet mould is numbered to the rifle?

All the silver looking tools were numbered to the rifle. The turn screws and the gold crimper was not.

Wow, that is very nice.

The last few gunshows in the Atlanta area that I attended have mostly black rifles, glock pistols, crazy looking hatchets, and other junk.

I didn't/couldn't jump on it. He walked out the door with it. He was asking $12500 which was about 4000 -4500 too high in my opinion. I know him so if anyone is interested I can get you in touch with him.

Casper, while I think you are right price-wise, that is a very nice rifle and I would have been tempted. However, since he is thousands of miles away, I am going to pretend that I never saw this post,

So a dumb question here...is this a standard Anson & Deeley boxlock finished by Alex'r Henry? Is the screw high up on the action side, behind the fences, indicative of intercepting sears? The dolls head and intercepting sears seem a lot like a screw grip.

On a different note, this looks a lot like a neat pair offered by William Larkin Moore:https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/rifles/alexander-henry-rifles/alexander-henry-true-pair-ble-express-rifles-450-400-3-1-4-quot-bpe-cased-in-o-l-mfg-1899-super-nice-.cfm?gun_id=101988116#lg-11

Alex Henry Ltd vs Alex Henry & Co.
Significant difference.

Sorry. Yes, they are not literally identical. They simply are super similar, which is remarkable given that the pattern is not that common.

CJF I agree. You don't see many grave vine engraved motifs.
