Took the 9.5x57 to the range Monday, first time since last summer. Typical Kansas in February day, high 70s light wind. I am still working up a load. The 235 gr Speer shoots 10 inches high at a 100 yards at 2260 fps. I assume the open sights are regulated for the 270 gr factory load. I have 150 Hornaday 270gr RN I am going to try, but not until I get a shoulder pad. I have a Mauser sporter that weighs the same 7lb 4 oz as the M-S, I shoot 196gr bullets in it, so why is the felt recoil so much more with the Mannlicher? Stock I guess, I’m a stubborn old idiot, so I am not going to give up on the 1910.

Hold her tight to the shoulder and it shouldn't hurt.
