Hi All
I am unfortunately needing to dispose of my three original Mauser rifles. I believe shipping them into consignment stock in the USA is going to be best and am looking for recommendations for appropriate dealers. Two are original Oberndorf, double-square bridge/solid sidewall rifles and the other is an MS350B .22
Any solid advice will be highly apprciated
Best from South Africa Stephen

Thanks John.
I featured these rifles on the forums back in 2008 and the .22 in 2012. I will post links to those here if I can find them.

Since nobody stuck their neck out I will. George Caswell/Champlin Arms, Steve Barnett. I have absolutely no experience with either but can think no one else with the expertise or clientele these houses deal with. Maybe JJ Perodeau or Griffin and Howe as well; all out of my league.

These guns may not be importable into the US. If they are it will be expensive to bring them in for sale
They will need an approved ATF for 6 to come in. It has been ATF's policy in the past to treat Mausers with left rail cartridge cutout as military surplus. No cut out they should be allowed
I have exported fire arms from SA in the past-twice.
It took me some time to get an export license from SA, then the guns must be sent must sent air freight to the US. I used Classic Arms in Witbank as my export agent. They charged a fee. There was also a courier from Witbank to the freight forwarder, with fee The guns had to becrated to be shipped, another fee.
Once these gun arrive in the US, since they would be coming in for sale and require import licenses, and have a high value they would be required to make a formal custom entry paying brokerage fee's and possibly duty.
A US dealer will charge additional processing fee's for sale and transfer.
Best way to sell these into the US, is for a US person to buy them and do a personal importation. After the US ATF Form 6 is approved and after the SA export permits have been approved, fly to South Africa for a trip or hunt and bring the gun back to in baggage a personal importation.
Fees still due, but there are some exemptions. No airfreight.

Stephen from 10/12/08 12:52 PM,
"I've got a wife, a cat, 6 dogs, 4 kids and a dozen guns......
A man is faced with hard choices.....
I've decided to keep the Mausers...."
Apparently selling the wife, kids, and livestock wasn't enough? Renting out the wife might have been a better choice.
Nice Mausers

If you decide to sell them Stateside, I can import them for you and consign them as well. I import regularly from SA. Best regards, Steve Bertram

Some good answers for Stephen.
Stephen posted the question on the Farcebook NE group and faecesbook took it down an threatened me to force every post to be admin approved. It clearly was a question looking for a. Consignment question, not a sale advert. So not against their gun hating rules at all.
People MUST support the forums. So far forums like NE are outside the future censorious social media social credit system. We need more support, more interaction in the future.
Let's keep independence going.
Great to see two good replies on NE. And a problem potentially solved.
