Long long barrels, how long?

What would it be, a waterfowl gun?

Nice.

Nope…..camera angle or computer screen parallax or whatever. ……Obvious amateur hack photographer ;-))
Those are 30” barrels, 2 1/2” chambers, and the gun weighs ~6 1/2 lbs.
Pretty typical bird gun for it’s 1882 production.

(Don’t ask how I know these details)

30" WOW - they looked as long as my squirrel rifle barrel. 1st thought came to mind.
Still look long in the case.
What a great gun to own - & use.
My London gun 2 1/2", does really well in plastic cases, hard card, 1/2" fiber, 75gr. 1F and 1 1/4oz. 7 1/2's.
An English friend suggested 2 1/2 drams would do even better.

Daryl,
In deference to its age and Damascus tubes this one is going to get "RST Lite" 1 oz loads with the occasional 2 1/2 Dram and 1 0z card & fibre BP loads. Have a bunch of Federal paper trimmed to 2 1/2" and a roll crimper so I'm all set to be very "period correct" with the BP loads.

This is a first for me! Never seen a rising bite hammer gun before.
Given the patent date for the Rigby-Bissel fastener (patent no. 1141 of 1879), I should have known, but just never gave it any thought.

...and what a marvelous example!
Thanks, guys!

Oh Boy!
It's certainly a beauty alright!
Wow certainly comes to mind, lets hope she gets a few birds or rabbits for the pot.
A gun like that has to earn its keep.
