Concerning your comment about the higher velocity shooting lower, that is typical. What actually happens is that teh bullet leaves the barrel quicker than slower bullets and thus is less affected by recoil.

In a double, a faster bullet will correct LB shooting left and RB shooting right becuse the gun hasn't rotated as much due to recoil. You get the same effect with a lighter bullet at the same velocity.

Of course, all is theory abd the real story is at the range.

BTW, Norma makes two slightly different 232 gr bullets.

I just regulated my blaser BD97 to shoot to the 10 ring at 200m. I shot it today in competition at 100 yards and it would be a dead sambar in 11 out of 12 shots offhand at that range. It's a 9.3x74R so I'm not going to shoot much past 250m on game any way.

Good shooting mchughcb!
I certainly hope that there will be a sambar in your sights, hopefully more sooner than later!
Yes muzzle blast will give strange chronograph readings!

Yeah, 3552fps from a 286gr certainly would have some kick.

What happened at the beginning, double discharge. The recoil looked a little more than usual but not much muzzle jump. Or ?

I like the ball and shot event. It would also be cool as a standing or sitting rabbit and then a running rabbit clay. Simulating a shot at a bunny, then another hidden rabbit running away from nearby. I love shooting running rabbit clays. I used to be really good on them. Probably because my most shot game with a shotgun was rabbits, hares, and foxes.

The target and flying clay looks like fun too.

For ball and shot what sort of firearms are used? Combinations, true ball and shot i.e. actual ball guns, drillings, big bores, small bores?

Where have you mounted your camera, left side of head or left shoulder?

Good choice of chamberings. 9.3mm and 7x57R. What Iis the combination? That barrel flying free looks unusual. Are these swappable barrels, of different rifles?

Last question, where do you get the wrist cartridge holder?

***

I could shoot some of the same. My Tikka/Valmet U/O in 9.3x74R. THE .30-06 DR barrels, but still unused. Same as the 12g/7x65R. Still haven't brass or ammo for it. An order took two years then evaporated. The gunships all were bare from 2019/20 ... Anyone know where some brass is in stock? I use the 12g/.223 a lot. Would've perfect for small game, shot and ball. Using a scope on 1x would be right for the clay, but only on a rabbit target at closer range. Fine on a circular target.

Good show with the video. Thanks for posting.

1. What happened at the beginning was I shot the target frame and it collapsed so they had to stop and get other frame and start again.
2. You can use ball, shot, combos or drillings. Just needs a solid projectile and shot.
3. Camera is Sony FDR X3000 mounted on the left ear muff
4. Combination is 7x57R and 12/76.
5. Barrels are free floating and regulated with an allen key. The stock is the same, barrel sets just swap out like a shotgun with two barrel sets.
6. You buy the blaser cartridge pouch https://www.huntera.eu/gb/cartridges-hol...0300500077.html

7. https://www.osaaustralia.com.au/products...2gr-id-classic/

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply.

Re no.7 if they are carrying the cartridges in stock. Will enquire. My last order through a gunship had to be for 200 or 300 cartridges. I can't afford that at the moment. And took two years and evaporated ... buying loaded cartridges is now pretty hard for postage/freight reasons. If I get to Vic later in the year ... maybe pickup some black powder as well. Now that cGraeme Forbes has shut upmshop, who is selling it?

You will struggle to get any Blackpowder at all, there is big shortage.
