Does anyone know when Rigby first started fitting cocking piece peep sights to mausers I have checked the patents in the British Gunmakers 3 volumes and can't see any reference to Rigby but L Taylor ( Westley Richards ) is mentioned with several patents to his name regarding apature sights
Yes! its a very nice rifle I have a 1902 built rifle in similar condition but with a different peep sight than the one shown and not the style of Rigby peep sight that we usually see on later rifles. Mine has a spring loaded button on the right and is graduated at 75 yards and 150yards the same as the two folding leafs on the barrel A friend of mine has a H & H 240 Apex with the same sight
