Lancaster and hello
      #378176 - 30/07/23 09:09 PM

Hello all. This is my first post here. Glad to be able to participate. By way of introduction, here's a Charles Lancaster that might be of interest to this group.

.500/450 built in 1891 for Victor Duleep Singh, the eldest son of Queen Victoria's once favorite Maharaja.

Beautiful rifle!
I'm guessing it is chambered in the No.1 Express cartridge and has oval bore rifling?

krc,

That is a wonderful rifle and in great shape. Have you fire it? If so, how does it shoot?

There was an excellant writeup about shooting Lancasters in DGJ several years ago, discussing bullet diameter and accuracy.

The end panel is marked for Prince F (Frederick) Duleep Singh, the younger brother of Victor Duleep Singh, who the rifle was built for according to the Lancaster books.

Thank you for the additional pictures. Beautiful. The colors are perfect. I noticed this has a Prince of Wales grip. Those seem uncommon on double rifles, in my limited experience.
