1st Model LeMat revolvers

Rock Island Auctions

Only 450 1st Model LeMat revolvers were manufactured in Liege, Belgium, many of which ran through Union blockades on their way to the Confederacy. This is certainly one of the finest examples we have ever offered at auction. #wheelgunwednesday

John,
Thanks for posting. That is a wonderful example of a LeMat. The last time I saw one was at a gun show inthe mid-1960s. What I remember is that one was for sale for about $1000 at which time I bought a 1911 and Luger for $65/ea. Of course, I was making (before taxes) $1.15/hr (living with my parents) or about $35.00/week take home. Needless to say, a $1000 was not in the works.
