Traditional scope idea
      #375673 - 30/03/23 12:03 AM

Hi All,
I’m trying to decide a fitting scope for my Rigby 350.
Ideally, I want the benefits of modern optics but in a classic looking scope. I think Leica did a Visus line but can’t see many examples.
Or I could buy an old Schmidt Bender scope…

Or a Swarovski Z3 3-9x36.

Matt.

This.

Can I ask what bullets and velocities you are getting with your Rigby 350. Any pics of the rifle?

Thanks
Greg

What about a Kahles Helia 4S2 (fixed 4x) scope with the 4A, German #4 reticule and original brown leather scope covers would be a nice classic scope for your Rigby.
Good solid steel, reticule moving scope. Tube size is 26mm but some ring brands in this size available or 1" rings can be easily reamed out to fit.

A 4x scope any amount of magnification for the 350 and the older Kahles scopes had very good optics.

If you can upload them to a publicly viewable photo hosting site I can copy them and display them for you.

How about a mint Zeiss Zielvier in a vintage leather pouch? These turn up from time to time and certainly would be period correct for a pre-war Rigby. The optics are good even in comparison with modern scopes.

My email account is near full. I don't want large files sent to it.
