An original Model 1894 Krag-Jorgensen barreled action, that has been stocked and sighted by Westley Richards UK.

Chambered in .256 Krag Jorgensen (better known as 6.5x55 Swedish)

Indeed, the Krag is an interesting having a very smooth action.
Like the model 1871 Mauser, it has only one lug though.

American Krags have one lug bearing. The Danish and Norwegian Krags have both the lug and the guide rib bearing.

That old girl has seen a bit, or has been thru a lot!
Looks like the butt stock was either cut or able to be shortened, looks like a distinct cut line to my eyes, perhaps for a lady on safari & for her companion should he need to use it?

Definitely appears to have been cut and the piece replaced.
Must have been a very thin saw used.
