A two cartridge wrist ammo carrier would be better for a double rifle. They make them.

Way heavier/ more cumbersome than needed for just 2 cartridges imho. Can't imagine walking all day in the tropical heat and humidity with that hanging off my wrist. ...and that large metal buckle banging against my double rifle.

I have never been in the position of needing to reload for quick follow up shots but I am trying to imagine holding your gun in you left hand and retrieving a cartridge with your right hand out at that wrist carrier mounted on your left wrist. That would be, in my mind, a bit awkward. If I was in the need I believe I would want one of those that mount on the right side of the butt. It would be much easier to operate,,,,LK

I am in agreement with that and that is what I have on my 12 bore rifle. 5-round carrier on the right side of the butt.

I haven't used one. But on a previous double rifle thread one of our Aussie BGRC shooters mentioning making a two cartridge wrist carrier for rapid double rifle reloading. Lots of shoots and experience make a lot of difference.
I think it makes a lot of sense. Should be able to reload at effectively the shoulder.
A butt stock cartridge pouch would probably be reloaded from at the waist? Don't see the point compared to a pouch on the belt. Only advantage is having the extra ammo on the rifle.
The leather maker makes them all anyway.

The advantage is the buttstock ammo carrier is only a few inches behind the trigger hand as it is situated on the butt and as the gun is brought down to be broken and eject empty cases, only small movements of the trigger hand then have to be made to the rear to retrieve two loaded rounds to complete the reloading process.
