I'm looking at a model 1892 by Jeffery to fill one of the last 2 slots in my collection. The sights are puzzling me. Have both front and rear been replaced? Peep looks non factory to me as well.

Front blade is an obvious modern replacement by Lyman/Williams/Ruger, etc. Probably needed the extra height to work with the peep sight.
Rear Peep is "modern Bubba" at best, AND with a hex head retaining screw at no extra charge.
The rear sight quarter rib is suspect and by extension so is the leaf rear sight, tho at least the leaf & base do look vintage (not likely original Jeffery)

That's what I thought as well. Think I'll pass on it as I want a good one. And they are asking a lot of money for it.

What niche are you filling?

I have a 6.5 Dutch Steyr which I will probably sell - very much a Holland & Holland build.

It's actually dated 1893 on the left wall.
Still need to get info from H&H before I sell.
I, unfortunately, do not have the scope or rings...

When you get a price let me know. If I don't have one by then I'll be interested. The other two that I used to own were also marked 1893
