Regulating a double rifle by grinding the muzzle

Can someone give me a brief description of how its done?

I have read the pros and cons about doing it but can't find out how.

EDIT: ah, disregard, I did not initially see the “grind the muzzle” part of the question.

As you know some of the Cabelas Sabatti's were fine tuned regulated by grinding on the crown of the muzzle. I am just curious how this process worked and is done.

Weeell...

It didn't really work.
I think I would be speaking for everyone here when I say the practice is pretty-much universally condemned, and no-one in their right mind would attempt to do this to a vintage double rifle. Or a new one for that matter. Probly not even a Baikal!!

I think the term "finely tuned" and the BS practice of attempting to do an el cheapo muzzle grinding "regulating" job do not go together ...

Does it even work? Ever?

Basically you grind off a bit opposite the way that you want the bullet to go, I've seen it done to smooth ore shotguns for shooting round ball and foster slugs.
Actually doing it is not something I would recommend, not even slightly.
It's a dodgy half arsed way to screw a gun up with the hope of pulling a rabbit out of your hat.
Yes it can work, but it can backfire too and usually does if you try it yourself.

Better off playing with a load and bullets then then taking a grinder to a gun.
