That is interesting. Judging by the design, I would suggest it is birch, not spruce.
It would need to have wider and thinner limbs to be useful in Spruce, imho.
I've made bows just like that one, in birch and maple.

They never found anything like that in Australia.

Back to reality. Interesting story about the bow.

One day someone will dig up my remains in my NWO hermit cave and marvel at the old hundred plus year old rifle this skeleton dude was using.
