Would love to own a WR in .577 ..got an opportunity to shoot a couple back in the day when WR was located here in Bozeman... was really not that bad in terms of recoil.. less than I was anticipating..

Still a marvellous piece of kit after over a hundred odd years!
Amazing how much Nitro powder (& then projectile development) changed the course of sporting rifles.

Correct on all accounts.. beautiful rifle.. and yes, MUCH has changed since its introduction...

Bucket list item would be to hunt elephant with one of those for a month or so..

Nice piece of history. I assume the single trigger is mechanically set as opposed to inertia set for the second barrel. I thought I have read somewhere that one or other of the old gunmakers did use inertia set single triggers if a single trigger was requested.
Similar to push feed or controlled round feed in DG bolt actions, there is always some debate on the subject of single triggers when discussing doubles for DG.
