a freind asked me to make these

a freind of mine asked me to make a pair of hunting knives for him,
after some back and forth about design and so on
this is what he wanted.

the scales are made of stabilized chestnut burl,
nitro X yes one of the blades is double edged,

he hunts feral boar mostly.

Chestnut burl makes for very nice set of scales.

You say it's stabilized? Is that done with CA?

I know of other applications of CA to stabilize weak or soft wood.

these are stabilized with caktus juice.

they are more stable than plain wood but not as stable as the stuff stabilized with epoxy.
