Alexander Henry small frame takedown hammer falling block
      #348761 - 02/01/21 10:24 AM

I recently acquired an Alexander Henry rifle in 360 2.25". Tiny little thing and even more so when the barrel and forearm are removed.

I'm trying to use a new image hosting service instead of photobucket, which I stupidly still pay for (and now can't do any BB sharing with, even while giving them a small monthly fee. So I am trying out picr.de.

On another thread here I was able to get thumbnails to work. Over at the doublegunshop.com forum, the picr.de direct image links worked as generated. Not sure what I'm messing up over here.

This hosting site is free and I came to them after reading a how-to in the IT help section on this forum.

They offer 3 types of codes, shown below.

BB code for direct display in forums
[img] https://up.picr.de/40228100vw.jpeg [/ img]

BB code for gallery with linked thumbnails
[url = https: //show.picr.de/40228100vw.jpeg.html] [img] https://thumbs.picr.de/40228100vw.jpg [/ img] [/ url]
HTML code for use in auctions, blogs, etc.
<img src = 'https: //up.picr.de/40228100vw.jpeg' border = '0' />

Of these, I've only been able to make the thumbnails work here. The direct display links work over at doublegunshop.com My understanding is that the direct display option is the one to use here, and you insert that using the "Image" link when creating posts. You have to also remove the redundant http:// that is generated. Lastly, I've also edited the img tags from picr.de to image tags as directed to here, but no luck.

I've tried editing the direct display links here with various combinations of 'image' vs 'img' and http vs https.

Can one of your smarter folks take one of the links I've shared above and show me how to use the image option here to create the requisite UBB code?

I have used Imgur with success until last week
Easy to load and get the BB code from (listed for message boards and forums )
But now the latest will not show pics, only the BB code
Older pics will still upload
perhaps give it a try for yourself?

Any other guys - help would be greatly appreciated - I have a couple of guns to post!

TH44,
I've been still getting along with IMGUR up to about an hour ago, however as of now it is AFU.....

EDIT LATER New Years Night:
Hey, it worked! #2817 is number 18 of 88, finished in August 1872; and there are only 14 of those 88 hammerless Patent Henry's known to exist

I simply removed the spaces between the g and the h & I used image in the square brackets.
The first picture would not work, though.
When I clicked on the first BB code, I got a really nice large picture of the action. That is SPECIAL!
The one I got to work, is a thumb nail(close), very small picture.

WOW!!
Alex Henry made more than one sized small action.
I have one which is not much larger than a US Quarter across the action flat side.
Bouldersmith here has one even smaller - almost absurdly small.
I think the 360 rifles were the size of mine and the really small action must have been for the Rook category of cartridges.

This is probably the larger of the two small sizes then. Pic with US quarter for reference below.

Yes, same as mine.
The smaller action doesn't have the angle at the front of the action.
