Mike378

I agree.

Most people couldn't shoot a rifle to it's potential anyway
so they would never know if it is a 1 x MOA rifle.

I am a reasonable to good shot off hand and OK off the bench
but even though I know some of my guns are MOA Rifles
(Jeffrey 375, WR 318, Win 300WSM), I can't consistently shoot
MOA Groups. 1 Sub MOA Group is NOT a sub MOA Rifle.

And I probably shoot more rounds in a year than most and normally
a lot of game (I find it easier to shoot game than targets !!!).

"Once we go past a Howa or Ruger in 308 we enter toy land"
I agree.

All factory rifles shoot now - buyers should concentrate on what fits
them best and what they like the feel of. It's all very well asking people
on forums but time spent going round looking, handling, feeling and asking
is time better spent.

It is also better to find a gun shop that has people who use the guns and / or hunt.

Just my HO.

Buy that old Olinchester and suitable substitute stock, if you can find one, becuase Winnie collectors don't like cross-bolts. Only Geb. Parker collectors are worse!
That Heym is much better than any Winnie, or long on a tooth Mauser 98, but a lot more expensive too.
