Would this have been Mark that went by “pugwash” here?
....more’s the pity if he is gone to his maker, a delightful fellow.
Involved with resurrection of Rigby and Jeffery if not mistaken.

God forbid! Pugwash is I hope still kicking the heather and gorse out of the way, and working on fine firearms. Pugwash is the owner of the Jeffery name, and still a member walking the Earth. He now needs to show his face!

Another possibility of the design diagrams of the rising bite is ME! Or some other like minded member posting a design diagram from the New and Excellent London Rigby. Perhaps under the "Rising Again" threads? I failed to find any such diagram under the Bramble alias. But still could be there, did not find all his relevant threads and posts by any means.

John, thanks for those Cad drawings but the drawings I was after were definitely pen and paper type drawings which clearly showed the mechanics used to raise the rising bite.

Interestingly the side lock is a bar action type.

Strangely enough it seems extremely difficult to find even one picture of an actual lock plate as used by Rigby. Heaps of pictures of H&H, Purdey, Boss and Westley Richards.

Yes I remember something like that myself, and may even have posted it myself. I think it was a Mark "Bramble" design diagram. Haven't found it. Perhaps it was more than 15 years ago? The search function is limited to 15 years., Maybe time to extend it again? But really long searches can slow the forums down. Most of these forums only allow 5 or 7 years. NE is different and we like old stuff.

Good we can keep the good stuff.

Its little over 10 years ago passed away from os. It was in 2010 I read Jaco Humans post here on Nitroex.
I feel very previledged to have visited Mark two times and spended a full day with him at Arthur Smiths barrel shop where we went through 4 bores barrels, ammunitions and all kinds of good stuff.
I had hoped Mark could have went on with his Rigby project. I was to have shipped him two Mauser actions with slant Box magazines he wanted to copy.
We had discussed to make a new Rigby cartridge too. A .470 Nitro shorten to 3" and turned a rim to rimless extrator and pushed the neck down. We would have called it the .474 Rigby...or the .477 Rigby. Mark is still missed!.
