8.0 N marked Obendorf Mauser.

Question is....does the ‘8.0 N’ Marking on an Oberndorf Sporting Mauser automaticity indicate that the bore is .318 instead of the .323? I’m looking at shooting such a rifle with the 8.0 N markings. I know I can slung the bore but the one kit I saw was $40. If everyone who slugged similar rifles and ended up with .318 diameter then I would just skip slugging and reload with .318.

When was it made?
Speed says that after WW1 sporting rifles were pretty much standardized to the .323" bullet.

Serial number indicates 1914.

8,0 N is a .318bore.

N=Normal.

Just ordered some .318 bullets from Midway.
I’ll see how they shoot.

I am happily shooting .323 projies in my .318 Type B. It has .318 groove diameter but is throated for modern 8x57 ammunition.
