once I help a kiwi with an original short action rifle without bolt, a rifle in very bad shape but acceptable bolt was bought for 100 +/-euro. so such things can happen but you maybe better asking one of the modern mauser action maker's for a single bolt.

That's "needle in the haystack" stuff there... Probably best to find a good standard Oberndorf bolt and have a piece sectioned in.

Could two standard bolts be cutnshut into a magnum length bolt ??
I saw an article in one of the gunsmithing digests where a model 70 winchester action and bolt was shortened and cannot see why a similar process cannot be applied to lengthening a 98 bolt.

Yes. That can be done. Magnum bolts (at least the magnums I’ve owned) are dimensionally the same as standard bolts in every way except length. Diameter, lugs, all the same.

I read that several[or more] ''Magnum'' actions were made by cutting and lengthening standard actions awhile back in the U.S.

A local Smith was telling me about doing this. End up with a magnum and a short action.

Phil Fischer , Portland Oregon was one of those who did this ( As described in The Gun Gigest Review of Custom Guns Edited by Ken Warner ).
