Congrats on the new scooter!!!! Damn, it’s good lookin’!!!!!
My Softtail FXSTC will be 30 years old on April 1st...... Ir’s been a good bike and is still going strong..... The odometer has rolled over past zero and continues to log miles. Cam, carb, and pipes, and a small amount of subtle chrome are all that I’ve done to it other than add gas, replace worn tires and do basic maintenance... HD is not terribly technically advanced but they just work and work and work, just like a quality old rifle.

This bike is electronic fuel injected and has an electric throttle. The hole thing is controlled by a computer. My how things change.

Have you seen the Harley electric bike? Im typically not impressed with electric or hybreds BUT this thing is crazy fast, crazy quiet, and crazy responsive. I dont see one in my future but it is cool.
My bike is a 1935 BWM with side car (clone). Its a Ural. After WW2 the Russians stole the BMW factory (including the bolts that held the machinery to the floor). Theyve been making pretty much the same bike ever since. Its got all the pros and cons of the 1935 design, including the top speed of about 55MPH. Now all I need is a MG34 to mount on the side car...

I remember years ago that old Russian Beemer and sidecar for sale. I've never known anyone with one. How times change indeed.

Urals have a small but devoted clientele. Its like wanting a 1960s Triumph Spitfire or MGB. They dont compare with 21st Century Corvettes OR sailing a schooner vs a cigarette boat. Dont get me wrong the modern bikes are cool, just not for me.
If you see a guy riding a Ural wearing a Fallschrimjaeger helmet, thats me. Take pity if Im in front, my top speed is maybe 55MPH

I seem to remember that the German side cars had powered wheels (to help out in the Russian mud?). Is that the case with yours?

Yes. They call it "Two wheel drive". It also has reverse. Now all it needs is a MG 34...
