there are things you don't believe until you see it. do you have an idea how many were ever made? I suspect he did it only on customer wish one by one, maybe had a short run of actions in the white.

At one time, Krieghoff offered an interchangeable rifle barrel arrangement for their combination guns. The rifle barrel was held into the monoblock by a set screw and could easily be taken out much like a full length insert barrel, except there was no shot barrel to insert it in. I carried mine with me on my last trip to Africa. It had rifle barrels in .30-'06 and .222 Remington. The .222 barrel came in handy for the smaller antelopes, such as dik-dik, duiker and klipspringer. I had a separate scope for each barrel.

I also had a set of 12 gauge barrels for the same action which came in handy for sand grouse and guinea fowl.

I sold it a few years ago when I was divesting myself of firearms I no longer use.

The extra barrel is in the plastic container.

I think such gun has been made for the reason of law in some european countries. There was a perieod in some countries when you didn´t need any licence when owning shotgun.

Here's one more pic. Better pics and more detalis will come when i have the gun in the hands, these are pics the seller made.
As fare as i know Fritz Wendel gone after the war from Suhl to Ulm, he learned to be an gunsmith in Suhl.
I have two Büchsenmacher/gunsmiths named Wendel in Suhl before 1945, Robert and Ferdinand, in the moment i dont know if they are familar related to Fritz Wendel.
Fritz Wendel had an company named " Fritz Wendel KG, Jagd- und Sportwaffen, Ulm Söflingen",documented in 1954.
I found two of this guns located in the USA, both bought by US Army members around the 1950s in the shop in Ulm and later exported to the USA. These two are only shotguns.
