Help Desk forum
      #1634 - 13/02/03 11:47 PM

This forum has been created as a service to our members. If you experience problems logging in or the forum software is causing you problems, you can post here and ask for help OR email NitroExpressCom@NitroExpress.com.

This forum DOES NOT require you to be logged in to post. So if you are having problems logging you can post here without needing to log-in first.

Note this forum is STRICTLY for Help Desk type enquiries. If you message is not of this nature it will be deleted or transferred to an appropriate forum (note - UBB coding has been turned off for this forum so links, images, formatting etc won't work).

Please also remember to take careful notes of what you are doing when things go wrong. Unfortunately if a new member only says "I can't get in, I can't get in!" it is not possible to help much as we can't narrow down the problem.

But also please do not feel shy if you are having a problem. All of our members posts are valued and we want members to join in and enjoy their time here so we want to resolve any bugs as quickly as possible if we can.

Hi,
I am using a MacAir and am having trouble with Safari. I changed to Chrome to try and overcome the "pinwheel of death" which seems to have worked, however, I now can't login to this forum. I have no trouble with others that I follow, but NE shows me as not logged in. When I click "login" I get my profile page but cant get to the login page.
This means that I can't post or search the forum.
To make this post I had to go back to Safari.
Can someone more computer savvy help please?
Regards
Les

The login function depends on use of cookies. You need to ensure cookies are enabled. You may need to make the NitroExpress.com domain a "trusted" domain as well. I will have a look at my chrome setup. I usually use firefox though.

Hi John,
Many thanks, I deleted the NitroExpress cookies and this reset everything. When I pressed the login page all was well and I was able to login.
Thanks
Les

What is the meaning of the caliber designation below the member name on each post?
Is this specified by the member or is it related to the number of posts by the member?

Number of posts. The more one posts the bigger the bore you are. Double entendre joke intended.

OK and thanks.
My range of calibers does begin at .223, so .224 is OK.

Daryl,
Yes, Miroku 1895 .405 WCF using 400 grain Woodies at 2080 fps. RSA in 2012.

BTW, I found it easy to put this pic into a post, but when I try the same method (which works on all other forums) I get an error message that it is the wrong image type???

When I tried to post a pic for an avatar, I received an error message saying "improper picture type".
Please explain this message so that I can correct the problem.
Thank you.

Ah, I see you have Photobuckets, new photohosting policy.

Want to lodge your pictures on free photobucket and post them on them here. You can't. Photobucket is now charging $399.99USD for third parting hosting.

Yes I saw first the images said "The 3rd Party Quota has been exceeded" or something like that. And recently, in the last day or so, the above image "Please update your account to 3rd Party hosting".

Guys,

Yes I do want NE to have its own photo hosting on the forums.

But in the meantime, any suggestions for the BEST photo hosting sites that allow display on third party sites?

Thanks.

But it works as shown by a pic today.

Thanks.

Less fun stepping on it.

I wonder if the "cloud storage" provided on many 'free' accounts, programs etc works for photo hosting?

I think I have had access to one or two, but have never used "cloud storage" as I just ftp any fils to an ISP account I have. Have several ISP accounts with more than enough storage, along with the domains registerd.

Most guys needing it, need a somewhat automated setup.

When the forums provide photo hosting, the problem will hopefully be fixed. In the mean time some free service will be needed seeing photobucket wants to charge for it now.

Things like instagram, pinit, etc may work?

If needed I can probably setup a dedicated photo forum, but need to create and setup the new ISP account etc first, as I don't want to use any ISP account I plan to discontinue for anything new.

This, from another site after a discussion about photobucket.

"I set-up am account with http://imgbb.com which is the site ALR photo uploads are stored on.

If you upload using ALR upload feature the photo is stored at a random location on the http://imgbb.com site.

If you create an account with http://imgbb.com you can use it like photocopier."

No matter what I try on the advanced search I never get any results. Can anyone tell me how to do a search on this site?

Instead of being rude on another thread how about some information? No other query on this other than this one 40 or so minutes ago. I did a search ...

Why can't the admin answer my question on why I always get no results when do searches?

Instead of giving ZERO information on what you are doing, how about some simple and easy information?

Like:
1. What search is it that you are doing? ie exactly what you are typing in that box?
2. Using any alias to search the posts of?
3. Any time range?
4. Any specific forums being searched?

Just no.1 would probably do it.

How was I rude? I asked why I couldn't get an answer since 17 oct. I'll just forget it. Merry Christmas John.
