Heya Mike. Bloody autocorrect took it to Whalen on me, I know it’s Whelen (autocorrect just about got me again there!!)

Springfield is a Mauser though :P

Ah....just good clean fun courtesy of autocorrect. There are plenty of Yanks that are ignorant of the proper spelling tho......

Besides, Whalen is likely the Welsh plural form of "Whale", and Whalen applies when one is referencing a pub crawling pod of women from Wales?

The Springfield? Yes, the action certainly a '98 derivative, and royalties were paid to Mauser. As battle rifles the Springfield and '98 Mauser are dissimilar enough, sights and grip configuration for two.....

Actually my understanding of "whalen" is talking a fat chick home after the bar closes..

But, I could be mistaken..
