i have a friend that swears by the 22-250 as a light game rifle what do u fine people think of them

The 22-250 is a great cartridge.
Back in the 80's I shot kangaroos pigs and foxes for a living and mostly used a Mk1 Ruger 77 in 22-250.
Shot many thousands of good hot loads and wore out a couple of barrels.
A very good cartridge IMO.

I want to buy a 22-250...and I'm looking for some kind of accuracy. Who has real info on that with out of the box rifles?

I've used one. Don't own one.
I think it is the best roo rifle in existence and great for blowing up rabbits and crows at long range.
For hunting where skins and meat are wanted I much prefer my .222.
For medium game I prefer to move up to a .243, or rather for me a 6.5mm.

Thats one of my rifles in 22-250 right now I'm using it for ground hogs but have some 70gr bullets that could be used for deer if I didn't have a different rifle to use. Those ground hogs blow up when shot using HP bullets. Lots of fun!

I have a ruger MKII Target in 22250.
Straight out of the box with reloads I get 3/4 groups.
Am also fairly certain that with a better scope and conditions it probably shoots less. But the rifle is often not the limiting factor.

22250 is very good for head and neck shots on small to medium game. I wouldn't rely on chest shots on anything larger than a dingo.

On rabbits and foxes the 22-250 isdevastaing. Get a bigger caliber for pig.

Agree with DoubleD
After experimenting with different bullets 55gn soft nose horndady's work very consistently with foxes with summer or winter coats all the way out past 300m.
I would quite happily shoot pigs in the head or neck with this rifle all day but might choose an even tougher constructed bullet for this.
If I was after a pig rifle I would go up to a 243 it is no better performer on foxes but will be much better for pigs and deer.
