Bradell .577 Snider sporting rifle

Very nice original sporting rifle, not a military conversion, very good bore with some light pitting in front of the chamber, light scroll engraving, bolted stalking safety, a very nice little gun, 2500$. Pics as soon as I am able.

Yes - very nice. Looks kinda like an Alex Henry, late percussion hammer. Nice indeed.
Do you have a date for it?

I do not know when this one was built. From my understanding it is a MKIII action do to the spring loaded locking button on the left side of the action.

My brother has one of the MK111 Sniders in excellent shape - Taylor's lock it is dated 1872, and between 1872 and 73, 100 were made and issued to the militia in Guelph Ontario, Dominion of Canada. The Mark 111's have steel barrels, not damascus, as I understand them.

His other Snider, a MK11 (damascus Enfield bl.)is dated 1868 and was issued to the Brantford, Ontario Militia.

If every there is a software upgrade for this board that includes auto resize of pictures I do hope the Admins install it.

Looks a bit like a Lord carbine. I have one in storage that I haven't looked at for while.

Yes needed.

If you want to look at the image fitting on your screen, right click on it and open image in a new tab. Opened that way, it should be resized as an iumage link only, not an html.

Ti read, one unfortuantely has to scrool across.

Yes an upgrade with auto resizing needed. Or people resizing their images to a sensible size.

Generally unless it something really special, when I encounter these over sized pictures I tend just ignore the entire thread. Having to scroll back and to read and see is just enough of a distraction---at my age I can walk across a room and forget why, scrolling has the same effect or is affect, or maybe both.

Scrolling has an effect on you, thus it affects the way you view the thread's effect.
