Footage from my 1983 African safari where I took 27 head of game in 14 days including 3 elephant and 7 Cape buffalo. This clip has the shooting footage for just the four animals I killed with my 1880 4-bore rifle, two elephant and two buffalo.

2040 grain conical bullet over 16 drams (440 grains) FG Black Powder and a .50 BMG primer, MV 1420 FPS chronographed.

My PH (who has been guiding safaris for over 40 years now) says to this day that he has never seen an elephant go down as quickly from a heart shot as the second one shown in this video.

23 lb RB Rhodda 4-bore double rifle.

Felt every one of those. We don't like that any more, but there was a time, I was (almost) recoil proof.

At 23:00 even what kind of stock is on the PH's rifle? Looks like a muzzle loading camel rifle stock.

That is the type of rifle I could watch somebody else shoot all day long.

Way more recoil than I could take.
