Tinker sent these pics and a description of a project he worked on .. very cool work and workmanship..

Below is Tinkers description per the text message..

This is a Python-themed full custom-to-death Colt Commando

We rebored a Python barrel and rebored the Commando cylinder for 41 Special

The frame was extensively welded and machined (and filed and drawn and grained...) to a slightly scaled-down version of the Python.

Ultra cool.
We named it Sidewinder.
See the images, showing the progression from welded Commando to the Python contours.

Really fun project.
I figured you would get a kick out of it.
Shared this with you as I'd seen your posting of the Python article.

Talked to Tinker today..he is currently working a small frame Bisley converting to 10mm..

Lancaster the cartridge is 41 Special, however I do have a project on the bench right now that is a 5-shot 10mm revolver for the 10mm Auto cartridge. It's based on the Mini Vaquero.

This Python-themed project seen here was definitely a lot of work.

the vaquero is a SAA clon so the 10 mm auto will be no trouble at all. wonder before how you will get the auto pistol cartridge in a colt phyton revolver without wildcating a 10 mm auto rim
full or half moon clips are not easy to made at home and it seems they never realy catch on.

Lancaster the double action revolver uses the 41 Special cartridge. It uses a rimmed case.

Also this isn't experiments at home. This work is happening in the shop of a pioneer of the big-bore 5-shot revolvers.
This is all high end commissioned custom work.

Agreed--and perhaps I can be corrected, but, I don't know of any other FACTORY revolver that was ever as smooth of an actin as the Colt Python.. at least none I felt.. have had a lot of them through the years.. in fact still do have a lot of revolvers.. but can think of none..
