I will be in Germany in September, I was curious if there was any hunting opportunities or guides that you would recommend, I have always wanted to do a capercaillie hunt. I would appreciate any information or help. Thank you!

For organising a hunt in Germany, you may ask K&K https://www.premium-jagdreisen.de/index.php?cPath=5_2_54 But forget about capercaillie in Germany! Due to habitat loss, these birds are close to extinction in Germany and fully protected. You will have to go to the Baltic states or Russia for hunting them. BTW, when still legal in central Europe, capercillie were usually hunted in spring, not in September. In September you may hunt for red-, fallow-, roedeer, maybe some boar and fur and feather over here.

I am going to try to hunt in Germany or at least end up with a German hunting dog, a Long Haired Weim for big game hunting, regardless I am excited to participate in the German hunting culture.

Great news GD! We're all envious of you, so yes some posts & pics would be great! Living up to your namesake - the weimaraner is a great breed of gun dog.

Hello Gundog01,
the estate is ca. 30min north of Ingolstadt, which translates for about 1 1/4 h from Munich north.
For safety reasons we hunt from a hochsitz, I hope this matches with your intentions?!
best regards Rolf
PS: And please do not take the comments of John/Nitrox serious! :-)
