Ha ha found this old "atkinsin" thread ... Some of the old timers here might remember him and also elsewhere, where he probably still lurks.

Folks,

Why not let him "hang out his shingle" and see what the market thinks of this.

We all have an opinion as to what is "expensive" but remember this in the pricing of these hunts how many "Professional Hunters" make as much as the "Slow/Go" man on the road works ???, factor in wages, costs, depreciation on vehicles and equipment, trophy fees (if charged by land holder), insurances etc and you'll see why hunts are so "expensive".

In my observation Professional Hunters are like Gunsmiths they never make the money that they're worth as we won't pay it. I know two fellas who have been/are "Professional Hunters" in Australia both well spoken of away from their presence, one quit before he starved and the other, we joke, is living under a slab of bark somewhere.

It is interesting that we will pay for a hunt overseas...………..but we won't pay for one at home.

If this "Zimbo" wants to have a go then let him. Based on his reputation/references/prices etc he'll either starve or succeed. The "market" will sort him out...……………...as it would anywhere in the world.

I would expect that there's always room for a good operator.

Yep it's a different environment in Zim to Australia but people have done it before. Rob Mann (??) was one of them back in the 70's/80's.

I wish him/them all success. I have an affinity with Zimbos. They're my kind of people and I was made very welcome anytime I visited in their country...……...or mine.

Mate it was a very old post repeating the condescending BS Crapkinson posted on Arab Reloading ...

No idea what the guy is doing today ie the Zim PH. I wonder if it is someone I knew? If so, he went to manage a tourist camp in Tanzania.
