Steyr: A Forgotten Giant - Samuel J. Newland
      #320721 - 18/10/18 07:03 PM

Another little 'gem' fount on the 'net - Here is a well researched and written treatise on the production of military arms at Steyr, Austria, focused on the period of 1864 - 1945.

Enjoy: A Forgotten Giant

Thanks Brian but it doesn't seem to work for me, it just says forbidden.

Well, that kinda sux... . It's a good article.

It seems to link and open for U.S. users, not Aussie or Wurttemberger. Any U.S. computer whizzes out there who could get this to where Aussies and Deutschlanders can open it?

OR;
Try a search for American Society of Small Arms Collectors. If that's not 'blocked' as well, click the 'View Articles' box on their homepage, go to page 7 of the articles and look under Bulletin Number 94 (Fall 2006) for A Forgotten Giant: A Brief Look at Military Small Arms Production at Steyr, Austria, 1864 - 1945.

Now I'm almost wishing I hadn't seen their 'site. There seem to be so many very worthwhile articles there... who needs sleep anyway, eh?

Does this help?

I don't know why the link seems to be 'regional'. Here's the 'site address:

I've had a problem with a lot of links in the US because of the new EU privacy laws. For example, the Chicago Tribune will not allow links to be viewed here, and Home Depot just says "Forbidden". Not sure why that affects viewers in Argentina or Australia, but there it is...

I don't know of any 'workaround' or 'fix' for this, guys. Sorry for the tease, it's a good article. I tried to find it elsewhere on the 'web with no success.

(Edit:)
Here's an idea (smacking self in forehead), why don't I just print the article and scan it, then post the scans? Why, certainly- I'll get right on it.

Stay tuned... .

Enjoy!
