a nuclear wasteland in greenland
      #317124 - 07/06/18 04:36 AM

being in the distribution list I got news about this for some time now, its a bad story that deserve to become better known
what looks here very optimistic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ujx_pND9wg
ended bad with nuclear waste coming to surface again now

This new Greenlandic postal stamp depicts and shows the image of Camp Century, conceived and build by US Army engineers, who after, 1959 approval of President Eisenhower and the Danish Socialist Government, build this nuclear powered prototype of and "Ice Fortress" and intercontinental, nuclear armed base for 600 nuclear armed, "Iceman" missiles, that was supposed to be able to wipe out 90 % of the Soviet Unions military capabilities, from a 2500 miles (4000 kilometer) railroad tunnels with 60 nuclear powered firing platforms, under the Greenlandic Icecap, that would have cost $ 25 billion dollars to build to an operational status.

However, this overambitious, US Army project, that was fueled by US military Generals rivalries, of have or have not nuclear weapons, forced the humiliated US Army Generals into a corner, for not having nuclear bombs of it's own, who then came up with this bizarre concept of building "Ice Fortresses" under the Greenlandic Icecap, and armed them with US Army controlled, 600 nuclear tipped "Iceman" missiles.

The US Army Generals, including President Eisenhower, did not understanding, or due to the United States inter forces, nuclear rivalries, were simply ignoring the facts that the Greenlandic Icecap has a spirit of it's own, that moves constantly as an slow moving, billions of tons of "Ice Tsunami", destroying anything man-made in it's path.

I had the honor, as the eyes of history, and as an multi lingual Political Adviser to the Government of Greenland, my old home country, to find and discover Camp Century in 2013, of would have been a $ 25 billion dollar, flip flop, indescribable fascinating, but naive and failed, US Army attempts to "tame" and nuclear militarize the beasts of the Greenlandic Icecap.

I am deeply honored, that my discovery in 2013 of Camp Century. and in particular the 1964, secretly dumped, US Army and the Danish Atomic Energy Commission nuclear waste at that site, has now been commemorated and immortalized with a Greenlandic postal stamp.

I sincerely hope it can be cleaned up Lancaster!
I'm afraid nuclear power is also not the answer either to our energy demands - just too many toxic wastes are created that last literally 100,000's of years.

G'Day Fella's,

Thanks for sharing Lancaster........ I think.
When it all boils down, I really am glad I'm living way down here, in the southern hemispere.
