For Sale 1904 No1 Lee-Speed by William Evans in 303

Hi Gents,

I need to raise some funds so I'm considering parting with one of my treasures. It is a wonderful all original No1 Lee-Speed in .303 calibre and identified in their leger circa 1904. This is an incredible rifle, very special indeed, everything going for it; originality, history, condition, for collecting or shooting, a truly superb early Lee-Speed that would be hard to upgrade.

I couldn't hunt with this rifle

sliding safety is cool, but front for safe, rear for fire is the exact opposite of what I'm used for on double guns. I'd either be pushing the safety forward and wondering why it doesn't go and why the gun doesn't fire, or carrying the rifle thinking it was on safety while it was actually off. But the rifle is totally adorable.

Hi,

Yes the sliding thumb safety is a very nice detail on this rifle. With early pieces like this it goes to show there was often little standardization on such things. Something we take for granted these days.
