Yes - I've never hunted fox over dogs, before, not with a shotgun.
Do you use BB shot?

Yes but that day i used No 3 shot. Standard load is 1 1/8 oz of BBs.

Me either..as a kid in N Dakota I used to walk open fields with a shotgun for game birds.. (FOOD)
however every once in a while a fox would blow out of the grass and I'd nail him with the old shotgun.. $80.to over $100 back then for a nice fox...

I used to get $5.00, but we'd turn that into $9.00 as Oxford county ladies in the county office did not want them taken out of the fertilizer bags - they gave us $5.00 each. The gals over in Middlesex County made up take them out and cut off the right ear - for $4.00. Thus, we drove over to the Oxford office first. Fox bounties kept me in reloading supplies for last 2 years while in school & the next 4 years as well, while waiting to join up and uphold the law. LOL

Great hunting with the Teckels!
Wish we had a bounty in NSW.
I remember when fox pelts were over $35 here in the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s. Knew people that bought new 4wd’s, houses etc off pelts. Stinky buggers.
$100 bucks a pelt and I would still be hunting them!
