I,m afraid the peepsight is no longer on the rifle. The quarter rib was only around 4 inches long and the sight was fitted up within a couple of inches of the breech end.Its current owner had the quarter rib lengthened and conventional sights put on so that he could use it normally,so Ive never seen the peepsight set up.

Hi All,

Firstly hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and Very Best wishes to everyone for the New Year.

I've finally finished the first of these Jeffery Rifles. To see the pics please follow the link to
Buehlers Custom Sporting Arms Blog.Reto Buehler is the Jeffery representative in the USA and is a talented Gun and Riflemaker in his own right.
The Jeffery rifle was completely made in the UK and currently that's where it will reside until its sold or the owner's of Jeffery decide otherwise.

Please enjoy the photo's and any comments will be greatfully recieved. Also before anyone comments, the front sight has a flip forward protector on it.While not true to the original its a handy addition. You cannot take it off, stick it in your pocket and lose it.Its there for a practical reason and while it might not be everyones choice,it does its job well. The rifle shoots a .7 of an inch group at 50 yards so shoots well and consistantly.

Got there in the end

Mark

A, what exactly would you like, please describe. The original photos were of great resolution and size to the ones displayed.

What a beautiful rifle. A superb double showing very nice lines and excellent build quality!
The chambering of course is for one of the best all round cartridges ever created. The 450-400 NE 3".
The very first double rifles that I ever shot were 450-400 NE Jeffery boxlocks.
I well remember a day at the range back in the very early 1980's, where I was lucky enough to do some shooting with three different Jeffery boxlock 450-400 NE doubles.
About 10 years later I had a few shots with a Jeffery sidelock, again in 450-400 NE.
Nice rifles all of them, and I'll never forget those times.

Mark, thanks so much for showing us the build and completion of this lovely rifle. You obviously really know your stuff.
