Luger in .45
      #310757 - 21/01/18 10:17 AM

http://www.lugerman.com/Pages/MainPages/Luger45.html

The Luger 45 project was started by LugerMan Inc in February 2015.
It took us, the company of 5 enthusiasts, 2 years to return this
legendary firearm to the American Market.

For many years since the beginning of the last century, this gun has been
a dream of many collectors and sports enthusiasts all over the world.

Our dream was to give the 45 Luger a second chance at life.

Our goal was very ambitious. Not only because of its difficulty, but because of
the conflict between production complexity and affordability for collectors.

We realize that this is not the first time the Luger 45 is offered to customers, but we are
proud to offer this gun for the lowest price ever in history.
The price of the standard 1907 model unit is $5795.

Our guns are based on blueprints taken off the original 1907 US Army Trial Luger.
Milled out of solid blocks of 4140 hard steel.
All parts are made in USA on CNC milling machines at LugerMan Inc.
Magazines are made in house and nickeled after bending.
No subcontractors were used. Everything is made in house.

First Lot of 40 units produced in 2017 are sold out
and started shipping on 12/2017

Second Lot of 50 units currently in progress and
targeted for shipping in December of 2018

It will be shipping with 2 magazines and one set of grips.
Production started on 06/2017 with 40% completed to date 1/12/18

Additional accessories will be available for purchase.

Custom : Custom Options available and will be build on current production guns.

We are very interested in your feedback.
That's why every buyer of the first 12 guns will get a chance to shoot
the first prototype gun free of charge. We will ship the prototype #4 to a range of the
participant’s choice, and allow it to stay there for a week, for display and testing.
Then it will return home for inspection and forwarded on to the next participant.
Same option will be available to any buyers at $300 cost for a week of testing.

I think at those prices... there’s no worry about selling out...

Am I wrong or were there a few Lugers made in 45acp that the US Army tested in the early 20th Century?

IIRC there were two? in the army trials when the Colt .45 ACP M1911 was adopted

One was used and shot out, the other is/was in a collection in the U.S.????

From what I've read, there were two:
Guns&Ammo

Here's the report of the 1907 trials:

Here's a (55+ minute) installment of a rather interesting YouTube series called Small Arms of WW1 - Primer. This one's all about the 'Luger':
