Bowhunting trips
      #30866 - 11/05/05 05:20 AM

So what is everyone going after this year? I will be bowhunting whitetails in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland this year. I may do a Canadian blackbear hunt with my bow also.

I will be making my yearly pilgrimage to Colorado this year but it will be with my rifle My buddy out there does not hunt with a bow & I need to know about his secret spots......the only way is to take a rifle

I also am going on a winter Caribou hunt to Quebec Canada....also a rifle hunt the 3rd week in November.

Bowhunting black bear in a few weeks in northern Manitoba. Will deer hunt round home as usual with the bow. Waiting to see if I make any draws as well. Will probably haul my bow to Africa as well.

I shot a lot of arrows tonight. Balmy spring weather here.

My compound has been gathering too much dust. I think it needs to be brought out and if my mate Orion lets me take more junk, if may travel to the Territory with us.

But practice, practice, practice ..... FIRST!

What a program, Ironbuck. Does it happen You work? BTW is it a job or a hobby. I am no America specialist, but if you are using your car to go hunting, I bet you are changing her on a yearly basis. Note it’s forbidden to hunt the Quebec if You don’t speak French.

Ann,
If You have any good bow hunting African adresses, where one can hunt non artificially, I would be happy to be informed of. Good luck

John,

You have no Sissie’s frame. For a solidly built man like You a 100pds bow is a cinch, practice or not?

Good luck destoj,
Next time come Chamois hunting in France.

JB Larcher,
Stop talking stupid and work. Sure staying faithful make you spare boxcars of money. Anyhow this year You’ll only hunt in your rathole along the German border , and if Wifezilla agree you’ll tacke a mufflon in the Alp. As the mufflon is smarter than you, you’d better take your lousy rifle along instead of your gaudy bows . Concerning Africa, either Ann find You a cheap hunt or you’ll stay stupidly home ruining your children’s days talking nonsenses or make NE forum turning red with shame .

I am not sure what you mean by non-artifically but I do have some archery properties in South Africa and much more difficult hunting in Namibia. You would have to let me know what you have in mind.

Hi Ann,
I don’t exactly know what I wish. In fact I want to bow hunt the hard way and altogether have results. Dilemma?
In the same way, I refuse to be set in a hide or a bunker close to a waterhole and knowing that at 7.04 AM I’ll have a medium Kudu, at 8.47 AM a nice wart hog but would have to wait up to 9.07 to get his toothier bro.
This year my usual partner (my cousin) and me spent to much money hunting, so we decided to be sensible next year in opting for South Africa or Namibia. That’s why bow hunting could be a way to make the chase more difficult.
My trouble is that I have no bow hunting pal for Africa. What I would need is a territory where bow and rifle can be used.
Namibia is better cause my cousin doesn’t speak English but speaks German.
But McCallum offers seem very interesting as well.
On the other (wild) side, B Faso is pushing hard for my arrowing a Roan, what was not yet performed, with a budget under 12K.
The (wilder or hairier) CAR is pushing hard for my arrowing a leopard (& any plainsgame and buff) and shooting a bongo for a budget not easily under 40K.
So Ann , will
So Ann , will You PM me a nice and reasonable offer. Thanks.

Larcher,

I think Namibia will be good for both of you. I've got a few different outfitters who offer a variety of options. I am also working with a new outfitter there who has access to a couple of large conservances. You will work hard on stalking archery hunts. I'd suggest you hunt the hot green time if you want to do it that way. Then the grass and foliage will give you some cover.

Do you both like to fish as well? You can do a side jaunt with this outfit on the coast for some shark and other salt water fishing. I will be doing that next year, a surf and turf safari.

Give me a time frame (this year or next...?) and I will email you some furhter details.

I hunted the Brisbane Valley (Australia) this year during the Red Stag roar. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful. I was a little early, the roar had not started in earnest and the stags were hard to find by spot and stalk. The experience was fabulous. I could have shot six different stags with a rifle but with the bow!!!!
In two weeks I'm off for four days for goat and late season fallow stags and then back home for a week and then off again to the Brisbane Valley for a go at the Javan Rusa rutt.
I'm trying to book my annual trip to the tropics at the moment for the big tropical boars Probably a mixed hunt, some bow and some rifle, especially if I can find a wild Bull.
Thats not bad for thr start of the year

Regards,
The Professor

lacrcher

Archery hunting ........or hunting in general, is my release from work LOL I have my own company so most of the year am putting in 70-80 hour work weeks. This changes come October when the archery seasons open And for the November & December deer seasons. Most of my hunts are for whitetail deer. Plenty around here in Pennsylvania& the other states that I can drive to in a few hours time. Colorado is a trip I take yearly. I used to drive but 33 hours each way was a killer. Now I fly & save time. BUT I will be driving to my Caribou hunt with 2 buddies. .........none of us speak French. I hope we can still survive

Good luck on your hunts this year.
