Doesn't sound good Ripp, certainly could decimate herds!
In a way like the Tasmanian Devil tumour outbreak, is a cruel death for the animal & selected individuals had to be quarantined for breading as nucleus stock; virtually decimated in the wild now-a-days.

One of the reports on this said that carrier of the disease gets in the soil and renders deer herds extinct where it occurs. That is really bad.

The very first time I had ever heard of this was when it was found on a deer farm in Wisconsin..however his article states it differently..
