Alexander Henry single shot

Joe salter has a rifle they only list as .500, but a beautiful rifle. After awing over some of the rifles owned by members here, I thought I would share this for interested parties who may want to purchase it

Has a 52 bore so that means it is a .450
Probably a 500/450 of some sort (No.2 Musket would be my guess or a 500/450 No.1 carbine) of course could be a 577/450 but I’m thinking they got the 500 idea from the breech measurement.

If I was in buy mode, this would be hard to pass on.
That’s pretty reasonable for a rifle that would be a ball to shoot and easy to load for!

Maybe even a better deal

Make a nice shooter for someone without a single shot and little money. There is more wrong with it than right.

Wayne, I understand it has a lot of negatives with it, but I believe still worth pursuing. Even if you use it to build a new rifle, I believe someone would be lucky to own it

If you start with it as the basis for a custom rifle when you get done with it you would be buried in it. Might make a good woods gun depending on caliber. Looks like someone grafted a different hammer to it. Looks different than any I have seen. The nose looks like it has been ground on it. JMHO.
