LIMITED RUGER M77 AFRICAN IN 275 RIGBY

Nice, but there is a snowflakes chance in hell of seeing them here in Aus.

The new Lipsey’s Exclusive Ruger 77 African 275 Rigby is a worthy tribute to the classic stalking rifles of the past at a price that is more accessible to the masses.

Featuring a lighter contour polished blue 24” barrel and slender stock, the Ruger 275 Rigby balances and handles like a rifle should. Classic touches like the blued bolt handle, ebony forend tip, barrel band swivel stud, and open rifle sights make this rifle as elegant as it is useful. Like all Ruger 77’s, this rifle has a controlled round feed action just like the original Rigby Mausers. For those not familiar with the ballistic attributes of the 275 Rigby / 7X57mm, think 140gr bullets at around 2600 to 2700 fps. Hornady is currently loading 275 Rigby headstamped ammunition that features their excellent Interlock bullet. While these ballistics sound mundane compared to the latest overbore magnum cartridge, the 275 Rigby has proven its worth for over 100 years with mild recoil and real life performance that surpasses it’s “paper ballistics”.

Picked mine up today. Feels good in the hand, wood is nothing special. I think it will be fun.

Nice rifles - both.

Interesting Hornady is not loading the 175 or 173gr. that the .275 "earned" it's reputation with, choosing the 140 instead.

They missed the boat on the ammo ihmo, after going to far as to stamp it .275 Rigby.

Nice, lucky bugger. The Ruger importer into Oz isn't interested in bringing any in so we miss out again.

NIOA say they would not be able to sell 200 of them here and that is what it would take to make an order. I suspect they couldn't be bothered even trying to add to the Lipsey's order and even adding 50. I would think they would easily sell over 100 in Aust. Do a bit of advertising and the order would grow.

Damn! Imagine if you only had one in 7x57 when you could have had it in .275 Rigby!!!! You would need one of each !!!

This nomenclaturatical (is that a word?) chambering name shows exactly how well the Rigby company is doing, especially with its new Highland Stalker rifle.

I very much prefer the 7x57 Mauser to the .275 Rigby. Oh wait, didn't Rigby just rip it off?

Picked mine up last night. Dealer had two and I took the one with the better wood but pretty plain.

I only noticed after I got it home that they use the same stock as on other rifles and it is drilled for a front sling swivel and they fill it with a screw. I absolutely hate when they do that. I would not have taken the rifle if I saw it before hand.

Anyways trigger is really good, big change from my last Rugers and the wood to metal fit is great.

They only had 173 gr WRS and 139gr Hornady Superformance in 7x57 so I picked up a box of each to break it in with while my dies come.

Damn Nioa I'd be all over one of this and I'm sure a lot of other Aussies would be too!
