.404 Jeffery Enfield

Has anyone encountered an original WJ Jeffery built on the Enfield action? I'm just wondering how these compare to the original Jeffery rifles built on Mauser actions in terms of smoothness and balance. My understanding is Jeffery built the .404 initially on standard length Mauser actions, then magnum actions, then switched to the Enfield between the wars. I'd appreciate any insight on this, and especially photos.

Mckinney,

I know Cogsqwell used enfield actions for their .404s, I believe they were used to replace the 404 jefferys mausers and 425 westley richards of certain game deparments used.

It would be fairly easy on the M1917,s or P14's, would it not?

I'd have thought the Lee Enfields, as in Mark1 #4's would be too short - no?
