Less expensive possible alternative to a Swaro or Nightforoe..and still usable to 1000 yards and beyond..have one on order to put on my 6 Creedmore --will let you know how it compares to the others mentioned above..

Did you order the 8.5x25. IMHO needed magnification for small targets at 1000yds.

Leopold makes good scopes and their warranty is out standing. I was once given a Leopold scope by a friend that was missing the front lens. I sent it to Leopold and they replaced the front lens and sent it back at no charge. You cant beat that with a stick.

Agree for the $$they are very hard to beat..have used dozens of them through the years..will very good success..and frankly they appear more clear than the Zeiss Conquest series I have used..and way better customer service than Zeiss.

I own all the best German brands which are fitted to my English and European guns. If my life depended on a scope it would only ever be a Leupold. In 46 years they are the only scope that have never failed me.

I have a Leupold where the reticle shifts under recoil. However it might be caused by an after market reticle alteration which MAY not have been done by Leupold. Purchased new however the dealer may have been altering scopes themselves. Must get that scope fixed.

John after witnessing you and your frog friend in camp ( by way of photographic evidence on this forum ) I am not convinced that it is not the juice of BACHUS the goddess who is not the cause of the shifting recticale.

I feel I have owned most and agree with the first comment, for the money they are really hard to beat in similar price ranges. seems to be a big push as of late for Vortex..IMHO, for the same money I will take the Leupold...

Have had Swarovski's fail, Zeiss fail and have had 2 Leupolds ..one was on a 300Win mag for about 18 years..lot of shots fired and finally gave up the ghost..the other I bought used, so have no idea what it had been through previously. I probably own Leupolds compared to others by a 8 or 10 to 1 margin..put a VX6 2-12 on my Sako .375 H&H last season..great scope--

A couple months ago while shooting long range in Texas I found myself with a scope that was 8-24---I found myself on around 17X when shooting to 1400yds... I did crank it all the way up to watch the mirage in attempting to judge wind.. but for shooting itself.. 17

BTW, the new MARK 5 is a much superior scope.. but also double the money...

The VX5 is also a very good scope..have on of them on my 28 Nosler..very good quality, good glass, lower weight and less cost than Mark 5.
