I need to get a synthetic stock for my Mark X in 375 (with recoil lug on barrel). I didn't know if the Ramline Mark X long action synthetic stock would fit with the recoil lug on the barrel. Anybody know where I can get a drop-in stock for it?

Have either of you tried Boyds for a laminate?

Boyds didn't have a "drop-in". I don't want to go to the trouble or expense of inletting to accomodate the longer magazine and heavier barrel.

Go to McMillan Fibregals stocks. I have used theirs and they are great. Contact them.

It is no problem at all to glass bed the second recoil lug in ANY stock...I would think any gunsmith would do that for about $15. to $25. at most...

Would you like to sell your wooden stock ? I've been looking for a wooden stock replacement for mine after it was damaged.

If I ever get my hands on a replacement I'll more than likely hold on to the original wood stock, just as a back up. For what it's worth, my original stock is in 99.9% condition. I've seen, on occasion, original wood stocks for the Mark X's being sold on some of the online gun seller sites. It all depends on what caliber and configuration your rifle is.

The Mark X in the 375 or 458 will take std. Mod. 98 stock, all one has to do is cut a tad of wood out of the front of the box...all they are is a Mod 98 that was lengthened by cutting away some of the front feed ramp..as opposed to being openned up properly in the rear and a tad in front, but they seem to work OK...

Try http://www.bellandcarlson.com/ My .375 is on the Interarms Mark X (originally a .300 H&H) and is has one of their stocks on it. No synthetic is a perfect fit. I always have mine glass bedded. My advice for what it is worth would be to stay awat from the Ramline. Have one on my .243 and I am not really pleased with the fit.

You also have to hawg out a hole for the lug under the barrel and glass it.
As to a Ramline stock...they don't even make for a good club! Poorest fit I've ever encountered...

I have to nix the Ramline stock as well. I put one on a Mauser 96 that I was rebuilding and it cracked through the forearm within five rounds. I replaced it with a Bell & Carlson and it works very well and fits better. I tried to save some money and it ended up costing me more.
